What is Mutawazzuh?

“Keeping one’s heart directed in a specific direction is called Mutawazzhuh.

A kind of rain falls from the sky on the sea. Before this rain, the oysters in the sea are inspired. The oysters come to the upper level of the sea water, open their mouths, and cry looking up at the sky in the hope of a drop of rain. With the conjunction of the Swati star, a drop of rain water from the sky falls on the mouth of the oyster whose cry is pleasing to Allah. At the same time, the oyster closes its mouth and dives into the deep sea.

A precious pearl is formed in the stomach of that oyster. Therefore, the disciple who desires to create a pearl of Ma’rifat in his heart, it is his duty to always keep his heart Mutawazzhuh towards the Pir.
